DND: How it works

DND: How it works
Nowadays new rule has been applied for all the service provider .As, for now onward we will be allowed to send only 100 sms per day and I think its not enough for you.

  1. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has imposed the restriction of 100  SMS per day SIM from  27.09.11 to prevent pesky marketing AMA. Now they have excluded the service providers, DTH operators, e-ticketing agencies, social networking sites and directory service agencies from the limit. This would let these providers to serve the people without any problem. So, finally a sigh of relief as beginning Sept 27, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has given cellphone users in the country freedom from the deluge of pesky calls and SMSes selling weight loss solutions to MBA programmes to travel packages to anything and everything. With these, Trai has also imposed a 100 SMS per day limit on individual customers.

Difference Between a Workgroup and a Domain

Difference Between a Workgroup and a Domain

What’s the difference between a workgroup and a domain–based network?
Why Set Up a Domain at Home?

Difference between a Workgroup and a Domain
What’s the difference between a workgroup and a domain–based network? A workgroup is two or more computers networked together. A workgroup is often called a peer–to–peer network because the computers are all peers to one another. No one machine is in charge, and security and other settings have to be made on each individual computer. In a domain, on the other hand, the networked computers have a definite hierarchy in that computers are either servers or clients. Domains have a unified security policy set on the domain controllers (servers) and users on client machines are authenticated by a server when logging on. The usual rule of thumb is that workgroups are manageable up to about ten computers; after that a domain is recommended. However, there are valid reasons for setting up a domain–based home network instead of a workgroup.  More................

FireWire vs USB
FireWire (IEEE 1394)

A very fast external bus standard that supports data transfer rates of up to 400Mbps (in 1394a) and 800Mbps (in 1394b). Products supporting the 1394 standard go under different names, depending on the company. Apple, which originally developed the technology, uses the trademarked name FireWire.

FireWire (also known as i.Link or IEEE 1394) is a personal computer / consumer electronic serial bus interface standard offering high-speed communications and isochronous real-time data services. The IEEE 1394-1995 standard for the High Performance Serial Bus defines a serial data transfer protocol. The capabilities of the 1394 bus are sufficient to support a variety of high-end digital audio/video applications, such as consumer audio/video device control and signal routing, home networking, nonlinear DV editing, and 32-channel (or more) digital audio mixing. LAN Technology

What is a LAN?

A LAN is a high-speed, fault-tolerant data network that covers a relatively small geographic area. It typically connects workstations, personal computers, printers, and other devices. LANs offer computer users many advantages, including shared access to devices and applications, file exchange between connected users, and communication between users via electronic mail and other applications.

LAN Topologies

LAN topologies define the manner in which network devices are organized. Four common LAN topologies exist: bus, ring, star, and tree. These topologies are logical architectures, but the actual

devices need not be physically organized in these configurations. Logical bus and ring topologies, for example, are commonly organized physically as Read more.............

What is Safe Mode?

What is safe mode?
Important of Safe mode.

What is safe mode ?

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don’t run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that might not start correctly or that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. If a problem doesn’t reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers as possible causes. If a recently installed program, device, or driver prevents Windows from running correctly, you can start your computer in safe mode and then remove the program that’s causing the problem.

Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.Read More............

1Base5

An obsolete 1 megabit per second (Mbps) local area network (LAN) networking technology.

The popular name for 1Base5 networking technologies was StarLAN because it was wired in a hierarchical star topology. When 10BaseT was ratified as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standard in 1990, however, StarLAN and similar technologies quickly became obsolete and fell into disuse.
